New website in development for CBI Security
Posted: 30 March 2010
We are pleased to announce that CBI Security Ltd have entered into an agreement with us for the development of a new website.
CBI are locally based in Stoke on Trent. Their business is based around fast response to their clients and this is one of the reasons they chose us as their web development company of choice. We were local to them, meaning it was easy for them to arrange meetings and get advice from us whenever they needed it.
The new website is currently being developed and will provide information on all of the different security services offered by CBI. The inclusion of a web based enquiry form will allow CBI to interact with their clients and potential new customers via the web, something they've not been able to do before.
In addition to developing their site we've arranged web hosting, domain name registration and full email facilities for the staff.
The new site will launch in the spring. In the meantime we've set up a holding page which can be viewed here at http://www.cbisecurityltd.co.uk
Midlands Power Networks - New website in development
Posted: 25 February 2010
Midlands Power Networks, based in Stoke on Trent, have commissioned us to design and build them a new website to promote the range of electrical high voltage services they can provide to clients.
The new website is currently in development and will launch in the spring of this year. It will reflect the company's corporate branding and provide a contemporary, professional on-line presence for their site users.
Midlands Power Networks have been needing a website for a while now, but couldn't find the right company who could provide the professional design they were looking for at the right price, until they called us that is.
We're very pleased to be working on this project and look forward to displaying the site in our web design portfolio once development is completed.
We've updated our terms and conditions
Posted: 16 February 2010
Today we've updated our Terms and Conditions. We've made them a little easier to read and have defined terms that are used throughout the document more clearly.
The new Terms and Conditions are effective immediately and replace all others issued previously. Also, we've simplified the agreement process for clients. Now, rather than having to sign and date multiple documents when entering into a contract with us, you'll simply need to sign only the invoice we provide. This will serve as both your acceptance of the project and our terms and conditions.
You'll also find a printer-friendly version of the document at the bottom of the web page the terms are specified on.
IE6 support dropped from our site
Posted: 15 February 2010
You may have noticed that we've updated the site navigation a little and made it easier for users to find out about our different web design packages by including a drop-down menu under the main web design heading.
The result of this is that the new menu bar does not work properly in Internet Explorer 6. We officially stopped supporting the old outdated (and very insecure) browser last year for clients. Now, we feel that the benefits offered by the new menu system outweigh the need to support IE 6 on our site.
If you visit the site using IE6 you will see a new status message appear at the top of your browser window advising you to upgrate to the latest version of Internet Explorer or (better yet) get the Mozilla Firefox web browser. Both browser updates are completely free and we highly recommend you update now.
Mobile phones predicted to be most popular way to go online by 2013
Posted: 19 January 2010
Analysts are predicting that in the near future (2013 they reckon), mobile phones will be the number 1 way people access the web.
We use mobile phones and other mobile devices to access content online frequently at Yellow Circle and we would agree with the analysts to some degree. Over the past year or so we've been using these mobile devices more and more for web content as they offer straightforward and easy ways to get the information you need quickly. However, they do have limitations, the main one being the screen size. Filling out online forms is not as easy to do on a small screen as it is on a laptop or desktop pc. Each mobile device has differing capabilities and they can render the web pages in slightly different ways, or sometimes are even unable to render them at all (Flash on iPhone we're looking at you).
Still, who knows what the future holds, after all, we're now only 5 years away from the year Back to the future 2 was set in...scary!
