In this interview we will be talking to one of the most entertaining, knowledgeable and professional gentlemen in business today, Len Foster. He has many strings to his bow and has provided real tangible solutions for the businesses and professionals he has worked with in both the past and the present.

So, without further ado lets hand over to Len where he can tell us his secrets to success and his aspirations for the future.

What got you interested in the sector you are in

‘Business growth through referral marketing just seemed to make sense. Doing business with people who you know, like and trust has to be more desirable than winging it with strangers.’

What do you love about your job?

‘I love the fact that I can make a positive impact on how people win more business. Having the opportunity to talk to people and find out about their business challenges and help them come up with possible solutions is very rewarding. It’s also a great feeling when someone tells me they tried a strategy I gave them and the positive results they got.’

What are the negatives about your sector and how do you differ?

‘People tend to believe that all referral marketing forums are the same when in reality that could not be further from the truth. I like to think Business for Breakfast offers a warm friendly atmosphere where business is done with a smile. I’m told some referral forums can be a bit pressurised and I know that that’s not the case with B for B.’

What are your aspirations for the future?

‘In the future I’d like to expand my Business for Breakfast reach. Currently I have two groups and there will be a further two opened this year. I intend to add referral marketing to my speaking repertoire and create a half day workshop teaching business people how to grow their businesses through referral marketing.’

Why did you join Business for Breakfast?

‘I originally joined Business for Breakfast to help promote my life coaching business New Horizons Coaching however I have been a member in several groups and have promoted Len Foster Social Media and my sales training company Reaching New Heights as well. I thought joining Business for Breakfast would allow me to meet many more business people and form far better relationships than just meeting people at open networking events and that has proven to be true.’

What’s happening in your business right now that you’d like people to know?

‘As I mentioned earlier I intend to open two new Business for Breakfast groups in Leek and Sandbach this year. We created the new B for B level one member training in 2012 and further refinement of that training will continue with a level two being added this year. On a personal level I have just completed a new book, 29 Powerful Referral Marketing Secrets which will be on Amazon in the next few weeks.’

What are your 3 rules of success?

  • Be persistent. Persistent action gets things done.
  • Failure is just a way of getting better. Fail, fail fast, learn and move on.
  • Don’t let people tell you you can’t (dream stealers). They mean they can’t or don’t want to and therefore would hate to see you succeed.
I particularly enjoyed talking to Len as we have personally learnt a lot off him that has contributed to our own success in business, every time we stand next to him we will probably learn something new, usually a different way of thinking about a situation.
