Dyers Den was a new business initiative set up in the Staffordshire Moorlands. A competition open to young business people, along the same lines as the BBC show Dragons Den. We were approached by the organisers to create new branding, advertising and a website with a very tight timescale.
A dyer is defined as ‘a person whose trade is the dyeing of cloth or other material.’ The dyeing of clothes was a common trade within the Staffordshire Moorlands in the past, hence the name choice for the competition and brand. The branding we created uses modern typography to appeal to a youthful audience and incorporates strands of fabric within a ‘D’ shape. This allows the brand itself to be used across multiple media types as the ‘D’ can be used separately from the wording as required, for example, as a profile image on Social Networks.
